How it works
From pellet to power.
A boiler makes heat. COR.gen makes heat and electricity from the same pellet — in five steps, without a single moving part in the hot zone.
Pellets arrive
The day hopper holds 40 kg and is filled automatically via COR.vac. At rated load, COR.gen uses around 2.7 kg per hour.
The sand starts to boil
Preheated air passes through the nozzle floor and fluidises a bed of sand until it behaves like a boiling liquid. At around 800 °C the pellets burn completely within it — evenly, without temperature peaks, without slagging.
Two engines make electricity
The heater heads of two free-piston linear Stirling converters sit in the sand. They turn the heat directly into electricity — helium-filled, no crankshaft, no lubrication. The constant flow of sand keeps them free of soot.
The heat goes into the house
Whatever the engines do not convert into electricity is picked up by the heat exchanger and passed to the heating system — modulating between 3.1 and 10 kW, flow temperature up to 65 °C.
The ash stays in the water
Finally the flue gas passes through the scrubber, which binds the ash in water. There is no ash pan for anyone to empty.
Sand at 800 °C.
Preheated air fluidises a bed of sand in the combustion chamber — pellets burn completely, without temperature spikes or slagging. Power plant technology, for the first time in a single-family home.
