Power

Overview

Electricity born from heating.

Your home produces its own power — exactly when you need it: in winter.

While COR.gen heats your home, two Stirling engines generate electricity on the side — day and night, independent of sun and wind. On a full heating day that adds up to 50 kWh: more than a family home uses in a day.

Supply & security

When others go dark, your lights stay on.

On average, PV covers barely a third of annual electricity demand — in winter often just a tenth. COR produces exactly when power is scarce and expensive. If the grid fails, COR.stor typically takes over in under 20 milliseconds; COR.gen can even start without any grid at all. For a Europe-wide blackout, Austria's armed forces expect about a week until power is restored everywhere — with COR, you won't be waiting.

Green power

Your pellet store is your power storage.

Sun – tree – wood – pellets: stored solar energy, on demand. Via the buffer tank, power production can be shifted — generate when demand is high or the feed-in tariff is right.

Surplus is sold to the grid. And our vision goes further: many COR units, bundled into a virtual power plant.

COR.stor

Your power. In reserve.

The full-hybrid storage system collects energy from COR.gen, photovoltaics and the grid — and delivers it when you need it. If the grid fails, COR.stor typically takes over in under 20 milliseconds. Automatically.

Silent with no fans, full-metal housing, safe low-voltage technology — and modularly expandable as your needs grow.

Heat

Overview

Heat that follows your needs.

Continuously from 3.1 to 10 kW — no heating system adapts to your demand this precisely.

COR.gen modulates continuously between 3.1 and 10 kW and runs long hours without restarting — efficient, quiet, with flow temperatures up to 65 °C for heating circuits and hot water.

Supply & security

Warm stays warm — even without the grid.

Every modern heating system needs electricity; when it fails, homes go cold. COR generates its own operating power — and your pellet store lasts for weeks. Security of supply that sits in your cellar, not on the grid.

Heating element

Surplus becomes heat.

The COR.boost add-on module turns surplus self-generated power directly into extra heating and hot water — electric, low-maintenance, ideal for peaks and the shoulder season.

Technical details are shared in the initial consultation — the module is in final product alignment.

Heat pump

The all-season duo.

As a hybrid variant, COR.boost combines a highly efficient heat pump (A+++, natural refrigerant) with the COR system: the heat pump covers the mild months, COR.gen the winter — each technology where it is strongest.

Environment

Young mixed forest, morning light falling through the canopy

Overview

Energy in nature's cycle.

CO₂-neutral, no measurable particulates, from a regrowing resource — environmental protection that adds up.

Combustion releases only the CO₂ the tree previously took from the atmosphere — the loop stays closed. Plus: no measurable particulate emissions thanks to the patented flue-gas scrubber, and a direct contribution to UN goals SDG 7, 9 and 13.

Forest

Our power plant grows back.

Almost half of Austria is forest — and it grows back faster than it is used: around 4,800 football pitches are added every year. Every second, one cubic metre of wood grows back, capturing roughly one tonne of CO₂. Sustainable forestry takes selectively, reforests and keeps the forest healthy as habitat, shield and raw-material source.

Pellets

Bundled solar energy.

Our pellets are made from what the sawmill leaves behind: offcuts and shavings, pressed without any additives. One kilogram carries 4.8 kWh of energy, two tonnes replace around 1,000 litres of heating oil — and production takes only about one percent of the energy contained. The best energy balance of any fuel.

Technology

COR.gen cutaway — fluidised-bed combustion chamber, two Stirling engines and heat exchanger

Overview

Sand. Wind. Fire.

Power-plant technology, for the first time in a family home — protected by four granted and two pending patents.

Fluidised-bed combustion is known from large power plants — COR brings it to living-room format. Six patents protect the process from start-up to flue-gas cleaning; the 92.5 % efficiency is TÜV-verified.

Fluidised bed

How can sand burn?

Preheated air fluidises a bed of sand until it behaves like a boiling liquid. Pellets burn in it completely and evenly — no temperature spikes, no slagging. The constant flow protects the Stirling heater heads and makes the core practically invulnerable.

Precision-machined metal components with copper rings

Stirling engine

Technology like the Mars rover.

Two free-piston linear Stirling engines convert heat directly into electricity — helium-filled, no crankshaft, no lubrication, maintenance-free. A technology also at work in space and submarines, developed with the world's leading Stirling manufacturer.

Particulates

We wash our flue gas.

Wood heating without particulates was considered impossible — until the patented COR flue-gas scrubber: water binds the particles, ash is washed out and disposed of via the drain. No measurable particulates, no ash pan. A world record in biomass power.

More innovations

Six patents. And details nobody sees.

Air preheating (LUVO), nozzle floor, plasma ignition, ember trap, tornado — every step of the process is protected. Plus: no moving parts in the hot zone, no lambda probe, over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics that spot issues before you notice them.

Overview

Your power plant. In your hand.

At the unit, on your phone, from anywhere — with an energy management that thinks along.

The COR energy management plans heat and power production around your actual demand — fully automatic. You can step in anytime: directly at the unit or from anywhere via app.

App

Everything in view. From anywhere.

The COR.app (iOS & Android) shows heat, power and storage in real time, flags pellet demand and service dates in good time — and if something sticks, our service often sees it before you do: remote monitoring reports faults straight to COR headquarters.
