COR.stor
9 questions
COR.stor has 70 kWh of usable capacity; 80 kWh are installed. The battery measures 523 × 800 × 1,357 mm, needs approx. 0.42 m² of floor space and weighs approx. 590 kg; the inverter (456 × 750 × 269 mm) is mounted separately from it. Output is 15 kVA (CST-15-70) or 30 kVA (CST-30-70).
COR.stor technical dataYes. Photovoltaics connect directly to COR.stor, via MC4 connectors and with up to 30 kW of DC PV power per inverter. COR.stor stores the solar power and releases it when you need it.
When the grid fails, COR.stor switches to island mode in typically 20 ms and keeps lights, fridge, heating pumps and internet running from storage. How long depends on consumption. In COR.set, the heat and power plant (COR.gen) recharges the storage unit while heating.
Island mode & black startIt depends on what should keep running. For a basic supply — refrigerator, freezer, heating pumps, lighting and internet — we reckon on around 4.9 kWh a day; after conversion losses, the 70 usable kWh then last roughly 13 days — within the ten to fourteen days the Austrian Civil Protection Association recommends. In COR.set, during the heating season, the calculation no longer ends in days: the heat and power plant (COR.gen) starts without the grid and recharges the storage unit as it heats.
Take the self-testYes. COR.stor is available on its own — as a stand-alone battery storage system, also alongside a PV system. In COR.set it comes matched to the heat and power plant (COR.gen).
View COR.setLiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) is a thermally stable cell chemistry. Each battery pack has its own battery management with comprehensive protection. It is the cell chemistry also used in stationary grid storage.
Storage architectureA LiFePO4 battery lasts longest when it is never fully charged or fully drained. That is why we install 80 kWh of cell capacity and release 70 kWh as usable. The remaining 10 kWh are not released in operation: that is easy on the cells and provides a reserve against natural ageing — not a loss, but deliberate design. That is different from the minimum state of charge: this is adjustable and sets how much of the 70 usable kWh you want to keep in reserve for a power cut.
Storage architectureYes, modular and pack by pack — up to 16 battery packs per inverter system, even years after installation. This works in two stages: in the standard configuration up to three units grow with you, which is 240 kWh installed and 210 kWh usable. For larger properties several units can be combined into an array — up to 720 kWh installed and 630 kWh usable.
Yes. Peak shaving cuts expensive demand peaks; when the grid fails, backup power keeps critical processes and cold chains running. We work out what that looks like at your site in the initial consultation.

The COR.gen heat and power plant heats with wood pellets and generates electricity as it does so: up to 10 kW of heat and up to 2.2 kW of electrical output from one unit. COR.gen is not sold on its own — it is the generating unit inside COR.set and COR.tainer.
The heat and power plantIn the heat and power plant, wood pellets burn in a fluidised bed of sand at around 800 °C. The heater heads of two Stirling converters sit in the sand bed: they convert the temperature difference into mechanical and then into electrical energy. The remaining heat goes into the heating system via the heat exchanger — so the electricity is generated while the system is heating.
Stirling technologyUp to 2.2 kW of electrical output — heat-led, that is during the heating season, while the system is heating. At 8 operating hours that is up to 17.6 kWh a day. How much it adds up to over a heating season depends on the system’s running hours and on your building: the calculator gives a first estimate, and we work it out precisely in the initial consultation.
Open the calculatorBuildings that need heat during the heating season and have a plant room — from the family home to commercial premises, hotels, farms and nurseries, through to municipal buildings. The system is the same everywhere; what differs is the demand. The calculator shows whether COR.set fits your building.
Who COR is forThe COR.gen heat and power plant, the COR.stor battery storage system and COR.app, which shows heat, power and storage. Buffer tank and the COR.vac pellet feed are included.
View COR.setWe do not quote a price here: it depends on house size, existing heating system and desired storage capacity, and comes with the quotation. The calculator shows whether and how much you save compared with your current heating. In the initial consultation we also factor in the subsidies available in your region.

Calculate savingsYes. The heat and power plant (COR.gen) is black-start capable — it starts even without the grid. COR.stor supplies the building meanwhile: the storage unit switches to island mode in typically 20 ms. If the charge level drops during the heating season, it calls for the heat and power plant automatically; the plant keeps heating and recharges the storage unit.
Island mode & black startCOR.boost is an add-on module in preparation. Two variants are planned: an immersion heater that turns surplus self-generated power into heating and hot water, and a hybrid variant with a heat pump for the mild months. There is no performance data yet; you can find out where things stand in the initial consultation.

The complete COR System in an ISO container: COR.gen, COR.stor, buffer tank, pellet silo and inverter, fully piped and wired. On site, only the connections for heat, power and flue gas remain.
View COR.tainerCOR.tainer is in development. There is no delivery date yet. If you have a specific project, let us talk about it.
Discuss your projectOutdoors, next to the building — in the garden or beside the garage, for example. The container arrives ready-built on a lorry and is set down by crane or forklift; heat and power reach the building by pipe and cable. The connection requirements will follow with the technical release.
A 10-foot and a 20-foot container. The output range is defined with the project.
Operation
5 questions
The heat and power plant (COR.gen) is serviced yearly or every 2,000 operating hours. There is no ash drawer to empty: the flue gas scrubber binds the ash in water. COR.stor needs very little maintenance — the storage unit is passively cooled, with no fans and no liquid, and built redundantly: if one battery pack fails, the others keep working.
Flue gas scrubbingWood pellets to EN ISO 17225-2, class A1. The day hopper holds 40 kg and is filled automatically via COR.vac. At rated load, COR.gen uses around 2.7 kg per hour.
The heat and power plantOf what is left over at the sawmill: offcuts and shavings, pressed into wood pellets to EN ISO 17225-2, class A1. One kilogram contains 4.8 kWh of energy; two tonnes replace around 1,000 litres of heating oil (industry figure from DEPI, the German Pellet Institute).
The heat and power plant (COR.gen) runs quieter than 60 dB(A). COR.stor is passively cooled and has no fans.
With COR.app: it shows heat, power and storage and alerts you when pellets or a service are due. Further functions are planned.

A room for the equipment inside the building: COR.gen goes in the plant room, COR.stor beside it or in an adjacent room, in any case indoors; your electrician makes the AC connection. We go through everything else — such as the flue gas routing and the connections for the heat and power plant — for your building in the initial consultation.
Request a consultationCOR.gen measures 127 × 92 × 182 cm (D × W × H) and weighs approx. 650 kg. The COR.stor battery needs approx. 0.42 m² of floor space (523 × 800 mm, 1,357 mm high); the inverter is mounted separately from it. Add to that the buffer tank and pellet store; we work out how much space they need in your building in the initial consultation.
Key data of the heat and power plantInstallation is done together with your electrician: DC-side mounting and commissioning by COR, the AC connection by the electrician. Because the battery packs run at safety extra-low voltage (SELV), they can be carried into the plant room individually.
That is what COR.tainer is intended for: the complete COR System in an ISO container, placed outdoors next to the building. COR.tainer is currently in development.

COR.stor comes with 5 + 5 years of warranty on the battery. This is a promotional offer, valid until further notice; for units ordered before it is withdrawn, the promised warranty period applies. You receive the warranty terms for the system as a whole with the quotation.
That is what the reserve is for: 80 kWh are installed, 70 kWh released. The 10 kWh reserve absorbs natural ageing — your 70 usable kWh stay intact for the full ten years.
