Fluidised bed
Combustion that works within the system.
The fluidised bed provides even, controlled combustion and forms the thermal basis of the heat and power plant.

02 How it works
Air makes a bed of sand bubble.
Air flows up through a bed of sand until it behaves like a boiling liquid. The wood pellets drop into this bubbling sand bed and burn at around 800 °C.
The moving sand spreads fuel and heat evenly through the combustion chamber. That makes temperature and combustion easy to keep stable.
Fluidised-bed combustion is known from power-plant engineering. COR has designed the principle for buildings.

03 Why it matters
Efficiency and little day-to-day effort.
Three things you will notice in operation.
- 92.5% overall efficiency of the heat and power plant
Even temperature
The sand bed keeps combustion at around 800 °C — without temperature peaks and without slagging.
Heater heads free of soot
The sand flows around the heater heads of the Stirling converters all the time and keeps them free of soot.
No ash drawer
The ash is bound in water in the flue gas scrubber. Nobody has to empty a drawer.
